This CDL (Class B) class prepares students to meet the Maine DMV Class B driving requirements. A Class B license will allow you to drive a dump truck, box truck, and other CDL vehicles that meet the weight requirements. School Bus and Passenger Bus endorsements will also be included if so desired, in order to drive those vehicles.

The course consists of 42 hours of classroom instruction to prepare students is required to prepare for the state CDL Class B written and skills exam and 30 hours of driving instruction to prepare students for the state road test. An additional 20 of classroom is also provided for the school bus endorsement.

The registration fee covers:  class and drive time, permit fee, bus endorsement, DOT physical examination, one state driving test (including use of the vehicle for testing purposes) and drug testing.

If financial assistance is needed to help you reach your educational goals, the HOPE Program currently has openings. Maine Department of Health and Human Services, Office for Family Independence offers The Higher Opportunities for Pathways to Employment (HOPE) Program to qualifying parents who are pursuing training and education beyond high school that results in industry-recognized certificates or licenses.
